Simon^5 Van Wickle (Nicholas^4, Simon^3, Evert^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes) was b. 22 February 1752 in Raritan, NJ and died 9 May
1825, South Amboy Twp, Middlesex Co, NJ. He married Catherine Johnstone after 1780. Catherine died August 1828. She was
the daughter of Stephen Johnston of Spotswood, NJ and Katharine Kearny of Whitehead's Highway of Perth Amboy.
Children: Ann^6 S. Van Wickle (b. 6 June 1784, died 18 August 1869 at age 85-2-28). She married James Morgan, 20 October
1805. Nicholas^6 Van Wickle (b. 1 December 1785, So. Amboy,
Middlesex, NJ). Nicholas^6 m. Ida Morgan. He died abt. 1837; Catherine^6 Van Wickle (b. 12 April 1788) who married Peter Barclay (about 1808) of Tennant, Monmouth County, NJ.
Mary^6 J. Van Wickle (b. 10 January 1792). She married Isaiah Disborough, 7 Feburary 1809 in Cranbury 1st Presb. Church.
She died August 1849; Margaret^6 SophiaVan Wickle, b. 21 October 1795; Raritan, NJ. She
married and then divorced General Obadiah Herbert [1775-1856]. They had five
children: Major Jacob VW Herbert [1812-1899; Sophia Herbert [b. abt 1813]; Sara
Elizabeth Herbert [1814-1888], Margaret Sophia Herbert [1816-1898] and one more
unidentified. Obadiah remarried, Catherine Stout [1799-1898] and had five more
children.
At the time of the 1860 US Census Margaret resides with her sister, Dinah and
brother-in-law, Jonathan Morgan in 1850/60 and 70;
Simon^6 Van Wickle, b. 11 May 1796; Raritan, NJ, and he died 3 June 1817; he did not marry;
Dinah^6 Van Wickle, b. abt 1805; Raritan, NJ. She married Jonathan Morgan, 20 March 1822.
Ann^6 Van Wickle married Major General James Morgan (1756-1822). A website on New Brunswick History
(www.ifu.net/~halladay/ebhistory.htm) states that "the sandy clay soid in the area [of Old Bridge, NJ] was very well adapted to the
manufacture of pottery and bricks and subsequent to the Revoluton, General James Morgan and Jacob Van Wickle [Ann (Van
Wickle) Morgan's cousin] established a pottery industry which remained in operation until 1828.

following about James Morgan (1756-1822)
Morgan, James, a Representative from New Jersey, born in Amboy, NJ, on December 29, 1756; attended the public schools,
served as an officer in the New Jersey Line during the Revolutionary War; representative in the general assembly in
Philadelphia, Pa., 1794-1799; elected as a Republican to the Twelfth Congress (march 4, 1811-March 3 1813); engaged in
agricultural pursuits; became major general of militia; died in South Amboy, Middlesex County, NJ, November 11, 1822;
interment in the Morgan private cemetery, Morgan, NJ.
